"After years of singing other people's music, I finally found something new in me, and I began to write my own songs about my own life and feelings," says Joannah McKee. "Sometimes it's uncomfortable to reveal your heart that way, but it feels good when people respond to your music positively."
Indeed, the Southern California native could once be heard covering Joni Mitchell, Mary Chapin Carpenter and other folk and country artists in Orange County coffeehouses. Those influences are easily heard in her voice and the songs on her first CD "I Remember", which is currently receiving radio airtime in Western Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. And McKee has graduated from the coffeehouse circuit to opening for national acts such as Blake Shelton, Ricochet, The Bellamy Brothers, and the subdudes.
Collaborating with her long-time performing partner, guitarist Brian Palmer, McKee has recorded a mix of country styles that Palmer terms "California Country." Thoughtful lyrics and memorable melodies highlight the collection. Whether it's the Dixie Chicks sounding "I Know", the swampy feeling "Yellow Moon", or the tender "Walk With Me", McKee and Palmer have penned honest and interesting songs for their listeners' enjoyment.

A great accomplishment for an artist new on the scene
author: Michelle C.Wow, what a great CD! After being given this as a gift, I was anxious to listen to some new music. Boy, I was not disappointed. What a great sound and voice making picking a favorite impossible. Thank you Ms. McKee for this wonderful CD filled with lots of favorites!

I especially like the Cajun beat of HIGHWAY 101 followed by YELLOW MOON, both take you way down to the Bayou Country of Louisiana. For touching ballads, my favorites on this CD are RIGHT HERE and WALK WITH ME, which show off Ms. McKee's beautiful and clear voice -- artfully accompanied by Brian Palmer on acoustic guitar. These two performers have something special!
