The songs of FloatOvations™ were composed to accompany the listener on a journey to the inner self. Its meditative tunes are a mixture of water sounds like ocean waves or rain drops combined with acoustic guitar arpeggios, lush orchestral elements and tribal percussion.
Soothing Maori vocals in the title-track The Realm of Levitation add a flavour of Aotearoa – the land of the long cloud (New Zealand).
Jo Blankenburg is a composer and pianist from Germany now living in New Zealand. Although his compositions cover a wide spectrum of genres, his main emphasis is film music. The interaction between acoustic and visual elements is the inspiring source for Jo.
While in film scoring the images and pictures of a movie initiate the flow of ideas for dramaturgic compositions, with FloatOvations™ Jo’s intention is to evoke visualizations in the mind of the listener. Quality of Sound?
author: Elton Dearmon
Don't know if it is CDBaby, or your recording, but in listening to preview tracks, Below the Surface (Track 2) was barely in the 2 minute preview, so I hesitate to buy an albumn that I can't hear. There is a geat variance in volume between the tracks, so I had to turn volume up and down to compensate for the differences in volume.
