I'm constantly dumstruck that, with all the words and songs and stories that have been written since the beginning of time, and all the music that has been written using only the 12 notes we Westerners have at our disposal, that people still find ways to arrange them so that an original thought, different from all others that came before,can be expressed. And a Blues song? You only have three lines per verse, one of which is repeated. The song's structure is based on only three chords, often one.

Max Bangwell lamented to Willie Dixon that he couldn't write a good Blues song. Willie Said, "Ain't no good Blues song ever been wrote". WILLIE DIXON! That's because it's not a song. It's a story, a conversation, a tale. And the Blues isn't a tale of misery. Well, it might be, but it's intention is to bring joy to the listener; joy because of the common ground shared. Man gets to laugh at himself through another persons words. And in a world like this we all need a place like that. More to come. But for now listen and enjoy.
