Album Notes

Jodi Siegel was born in Chicago, Il., but it wasn't until she moved out to California that her music career began. She immediately began playing and singing in countless blues, R & B, pop and orignal music bands all over the Los Angeles area. Over the years Jodi has opened for and or shared the stage with many respected musicians including Albert King, Robben Ford, Pine Top Perkins, Sam Lay, Screaming Jay Hawkins, and countless others while honing her own style of blues, pop, R & B and jazz into songs that have been performed live and/or recorded by the likes of Maria Muldaur, Marcia Ball, Tommy Ridgley, Teresa James and many others. She has a new CD set for release in 2007 (with pre-releases in the fall/winter of 2006) called "Stepping Stone" filled with upbeat, rocking and soulful R & B flavored songs that will inspire and lift you to a higher place. Produced by Tony Braunagel (Taj Mahal drummer and Grammy winning producer) and Terry Wilson (Bassist/Producer/songwriter for Teresa James) and featuring such luminaries as Mike Finnegan (organ and background vocals), Greg Leitz (pedal and lap steel), Johnny Lee Schell (guitar), Karen Hammack (piano), Teresa James (background vocals), Debra Dobkin (percussion and background vocals), Julie Delgado (background vocals), Billy Valentine (background vocals), Billy Watts (guitar), James Cruce (drums), Lee Thornberg (flugel horn) and Jodi Siegel on lead vocals, slide guitar, electric and acoustic guitars.

Every song on this album is good. The singing and musicians really bring each song to its best. Every time I listen the beauty of each song grows. Happy Accidents and Calling on Grace really touch my heart. I would not hesitate to gift this album to anyone.

I've been listening to this CD in my car for a week now and have yet to skip a track. It's like listening to the music of James Taylor or Carol King. It's at that level. Jodi's voice is smooth and full, the songs are lyrically rich and meaningful, and the music is first class. Jerry Hester

I have known Jodi since the early nineties and her music from that period rarely leaves my top 10 cd's! With this cd she has grown immensely, both musically and spiritually! There is so much positive energy in her vocals and lyrics...just brings a slow warm smile to my face every time I listen!! Right on, Jodi!! I miss ya!!

Home made and soulful.

I had the pleasure of playing and singing on this fine album. I've worked with many great artists but I never had a more soulfully satisfying experience than I had with Jody, these songs, and this stellar group of musicians. I don't know if these two words have ever been coupled before, but I'm gonna say "downhome elegance."
