Album Notes

Led by the explosive and potently soulful vocals of
Sara Colb, The Jody Grind will take you for a melodic journey you won't soon forget. The band's debut album, "Losing Time", serves up a mix of roots-rock, blues, and funk, in a set of stirring original songs that are sure to move both body and soul.

The album also features guest spots by Paul Schultheis of Superhoney and Kevin Barry (who has toured with Paula Cole and Mary Chapin Carpenter) of The Dennis Brennan Band.

REVIEWS

I have seen this band through all of the transitions they have undergone...and this album is a new pinnacle of development. The band is great to see live, and I strongly recommend this CD, even if I weren't the guitarist's brother!

Absolutely loved this album
author: Jen Thomas
This CD is amazing. The lyrics are vaguely reminiscent of Dylan, and retain a haunting quality seldom found in contemporary music. The melodies are phenomenal, brought to their pinnacle by the explosive vocals of Sara Colb, who I would liken to a latter day Joplin. I can't say enough good things about this album.

Great band, great album
author: Jeff Morris
I saw this band in a small bar in Boston last fall. I don’t remember the name of the bar, but I definitely remember the band, especially the singer – you don’t forget a voice like that. I thought a fair share of their songs were covers (they have kind of a classic sound) but looking at the writing credits, almost all of them must have been original songs. The combination of powerful vocals and poetic lyrics is really rare in music today (even one or the other is rare!), but this band pulls it off. I highly recommend this album. And if you live in or near Boston, you have to see them live.
