California native Joe Catanio has been singing professionally even before he was old enough to drive a car. His musical journey through the San Francisco Bay Area brought his voice into contact with many of the Bay Area's premier jazz musicians including Dick Hindman (Richie Cole, Stan Getz), Mary Fettig (Stan Kenton, Flora Purim & Airto Moreira) and Grammy Award winner Marc Russo (Yellow Jackets, Kenny Loggins, Doobie Bros.) to name a few.
The songs on this album were carefully selected and arranged to reflect Joe's musical tastes and his straight ahead, smooth vocal delivery. The lyrics in each song mirror some of the most important moments in Joe's life, thus "Stories" (Stories of Joe's life experiences) is a natural album title.
Joe is thrilled to have multiple Grammy winner Ernie Watts playing on four songs of this album, "Feel Like Makin' Love", "It Could Have Been", "Dindi" and "Too Marvelous For Words". Thank you Ernie!

This is my kind of music, a mixture of smooth, sexy jazz with a few upbeat songs for a change of pace. The artist's voice is impeccable. Wonderful cd. Everything I expected and more.
