Album Notes

This is joe's second album in less than a year, but his first in the (loosely) R&B genre and and his first vocal album. "I've always written instrumental music in the past that was sort of a blend of avante garde, experimental, classical, pop and jazz that reflects my early eclectic influences. Writing this album, and ultimately singing on it as well, was a revelation to me." The lyrics and harmonically rich arrangements, in combination with joe's raw, bass voice create a brooding and dark description of the working class condition. The last piece on the album is sung by Sidney Cunningham giving the narrative character portrayed (a dead 19th century child) an eerie, chilling quality.
