Joe Deninzon is a violin virtuoso from New York who has been called "The Jimi Hendrix of the Violin".
He has worked as a sideman with a diverse roster of artists including Ritchie Blackmore from Deep Purple, Sheryl Crow, Everclear, Phoebe Snow, Smoky Robinson, The Mahavishnu Project, Project Object and the Trans-Siberian Orchestra among others.
Joe is the frontman of the New York-based psychofunk band, "Stratospheerius".
The group has been heavily involved in the jam band scene, performing regularly at clubs like The Bitter end and the Knitting Factory, as well as touring throughout the United States.
They were recent winners of Inside Connection Magazine's New music Showcase Competition, and have shared bills with John Scofield, Mike Stern, Ekoostik Hookah, Project/Object, The Slip, and more.
The group on this CD features Joe on six-string electric violin and vocals, Grisha Alexiev on drums, Rufus Philpot on bass, Scott Chasolen on organ, DJ Big Wiz on turntables, and renowned guitarist Alex Skolnick (who has worked with Testament and Stu Hamm).
They mix the progressive jazz/rock sound of the Mahavishnu Orchestra, the pop sensibilities of the Dave Matthews Band, and avante garde rock of Frank Zappa, to create a STRATOSPHEERIC musical experience.
"The Adventures of STRATOSPHEERIUS" is Joe's follow-up to his debut, "Electric Blue".
The disc features special guests like percussionist Daniel Sadownick (Screaming Headless Torsos, Steely Dan), bass player Matt Rubano (Lauren Hill, Topaz), and guitarist John La Barbera.

Promising Adventure Awaits You
author: Freudian Slip News
A very enjoyable and adventurous CD. Joe's violin playing and singing on this album stirs a lot of diversity, passion and makes for a must buy CD. The tracks "Hope Alive" and "Pleasurepain" alone makes this CD worth having in your collection. Great tunes. Joes' mixture of the voilin with this modern sound will put his music right up there with The Dave Matthews Band.
A promising career awaits Stratospheerius. Looking forward for the next adventure.
