ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Joe Ferry is the multi-Grammy nominated producer of The Skatalites (“Hi-Bop Ska”, “Greetings From Ska Mania”, and several singles), The Skandalous All-Stars, The Articles, Perfect Thyroid, The Skadaddles as well as blues greats Dr. John, Sue Foley, Debbie Davies, John Hammond, jam bands such as The New Orleans Klezmer All-Stars and Joe’s own critically acclaimed ska albums. Joe Ferry’s fifth ska release, “Big Up” (Shantytown Records), is a high-energy set that includes 2009 versions of his popular “Skanfutatis”, “Skave Maria” and “I Heard The Voice” as well as previously unreleased live versions of the party anthem “Wild Thing” and Joe’s signature tune “Skalloween”. Features guest appearances by Hip-Hop producer Mikey Fresh as well as a monster dub mix of Joe’s “Skaramozza” by the king of the remix producers, Phil “The Butcha” Moffa. Joe Ferry’s Big Ska Band rips it up throughout with hot grooves, deep pockets, blazing solos and some extraordinary vocals by the French phenom, Cyrille-Aimee Daudel. If you wanna bop to the ska, “Big Up” is the album for you.
