Lee Cook, aka Joe Grease, created"LOS CAJONES" from his unique West Coast/East Coast, North/South perspective in America, enabling him to draw upon his experiences in American politics, education, business, and music, to launch a successful songwriting and performing career. Whether he captures the listener with a "politically incorrect" country blues piece about contemporary illicit female slavery, cultural hypocracy, and poverty(Billboards and Snowjobs), or a melodic yet frustrating romantic ballad about an experience as a young roadie in the West and Midwest(To Omaha From Lincoln), or an autobiographical rock classic poking fun at his successful bout with alcohol(Battling The Bottle), Cook draws from his extensive background, merged with his admirable ability to work and write throughout multiple musical genres. Cook offers some piercingly satirical, lyrical compositions, ranging from such topics as Southern California urbanization and nostalgia(Bostonia Ballroom), to human rights, politics, people, and love. The hard Southern Rock classic, "It's Been On My Mind," co written with long time keyboard collaborator, Steve Baker, captures his priority value concept of finding love, fulfillment, and one's destiny in life, rather than mere material success; a particularly impressive theme in light of Cook's considerable personal success. "Texas Bounty Hunter" pays tribute to his former band mate, Tim Sawyer, a multi-faceted professional as well as musician, now residing in Hana, Hawaii(Watch out "Dog"). In addition Cook included "Long Hair Construction Boy Blues" penned by long time JGBand percussionist, Carmine Gegnose, to denounce the discrimination against union and non-union construction workers as well as other young laborers, due to societal prejudice against the counter-culture of the 60's and 70's. LOS CAJONES is a spectrum of songs magnificently arranged with appearances by special guests, Steve Marx(Marx Brothers II),Jim Soldi(Johnny Cash, Ricky Scaggs), Dick Lee(The Brymers, Smokin), & Al Cates(Smokin', Wilderness, CY DYGYT). Let me emphasize that"LOS CAJONES" by The Joe Grease Band deserves a listen and is well worth your attention!....Y no has oido nada todavia!!
