unique - slightly odd - interesting

I have listened to Let Joe and it's, well, interesting. Joe's lyrical style is odd, without being comical. Whimsical without being cheap. Musically skilled without being flashy. It's one of those CDs that is beyond classification, like Tom Waits or Lyle Lovett. Not that Joe Lima would ever be confused with the latter since his style is wholly original, but he comes from the same source of American musical sensibility and temperment. Listening to the CD is the only way to truly understand this quirky artist.
