Album Notes

Hey everybody,

Here is my second album, "Free Range Donut". I hope you like it. Unlike my first album, "Greetings from the Middle of Nowhere," which had all kinds of fancy production and guest musicians, this album is just me and my guitar. I like this album because the songs are more lighthearted and the recording has a looser feel to it. Also, I think this album is an honest one in the way that it takes a simple approach to capturing me playing my songs. No studio trickery was used in the making of this album, which I recorded live at my friend Brett D. Cline's home studio. Basically, Brett set up the microphones, and I played the songs. Then, we listened to them and picked the best ones for you. I think the result is a cool-sounding, low-fi recording. Check out the song samples here and see what you think!

For now, this album is only available in the CD-R format. So be aware that you won't get a shrink-wrapped, bar-coded, high-falutin replicated CD when you buy this CD. Instead, you'll get a CD-R just like the CDs that your friends make for you (except that it has some fancy printing on the CD). In fact, I personally put the artwork into the jewel cases for all of the CDs that I've made so far (only 100). So I suppose you could say this album is a collector's item. Enjoy!

Thanks,

Joel
