For years, Joel Ninesling has been writing songs in his bedroom. For years, friends and strangers alike have relentlessly asked him to come out of his room with some of these songs. The wait is over.
The alchemy of song is exactly elusive, exactly strange and exactly beautiful. Sometimes it's more about making sure something is coming from the right place. Sometimes it comes in unconscious gestation. Sometimes less is more. Sometimes you just gotta wait on it.
Like a blacksmith tending to the forge, Joel Ninesling has stoked the fire, brushed the slag and drawn the carbon that cuts like a good song. Born in Galveston, TX and raised in the midwest, Joel grew up traipsing the woods, skipping rocks, climbing sycamores and skinning his knees. Working from the ground up, he taught himself to play an old cracked Harmony flattop only after tuning the guitar until it sounded good to him, letting the music come on its own. Ninesling's writing has always reached for the guts and gestalt of this art form.
An award-winning songwriter (Telluride Troubadour finalist and Rocky Mountain Folks Fest) before he even released a record, Joel Ninesling has always been willing to tell the truth, give back to the songbook and free the untold story.
After holding faith and perseverance, the highly-anticipated debut release of "ramble and thoreauvian" marks the stunning entrance of this Somerville, MA based songwriter. An album that delivers a song cycle in a sparseness and honesty, it was recorded in a small attic in Arlington, MA by engineer Glenn French.

Can´t stop listening.....!
author: Joerg from Germany
Joels songs are incredible. Light a candle and listen. He´s a songwriter in the classic tradition of troubadours, colorful lyrics and a fine finger picking style. His vocals are warm and comfortable. Once again huge thanks to cdbaby for this great artist.
