Album Notes

This upstate N.Y. power trio was formed in 1999 performing a fifty-fifty mix of cover and original material throughout most of the eastern ny and new england area.

Their debut CD "the Joe Mama band" reflects what their name does....fun! Powerful guitar mixed with rich flowing melodies make up the Joe Mama sound. With influnces from Stevie Ray Vaughn, early Aerosmith, and just about every guitar driven combo, There is enough variety to please everyone.

Guitarist Phil Camps curious use of the talkbox on "Sick day pay" to his infectious wah-wah use in "Speed train" sum up their live performance.Intricate soloing throughout the cd is a mainstay of the Joe Mama sound. Marty Montena, Bassist, pulls on his jazz influences all through the disk. Check out his work on "No man is a stone." On drums and percussion, Jeff Britton is rock solid and attentive to flowing moods of each song. With many years of touring on the club scene, the Joe Mama band draws from experence, and lots of it!

The local newspaper states "The result is a solid rock sound that would be welcome at a bikers hideout or a backyard family barbecue."
From the opening chords of "pack it up" to the closing solos in "That damn woman of mine" the Joe Mama band is easy on the ears, tasty on the tounge and ready to serve!"

3/07 UPDATE!!! Phil Camp, Joe Mama's lead guitarist, reports that the band has just finished recording all tracks for the followup CD titled, " Green pepper air freshner." With the addition of keyboardist Mark Orlosky, be ready for something completly unique...
"I'm very proud of the results, can't wait to get the music out and into your ears!" Phil states. Stay tuned for more info...
