One of the most multi-talented underground artists out there. Requiem For Civilization is Joe's fourth full length release in a storied career that has included countless accolades from fans and critics alike. This concept album is written, arranged, performed and produced entirely by Joe Nacco.
A statement from Joe;
"Requiem For Civilization, is about a man who loses everything he has in a natural disaster. Questioning his faith and upset with his government, he organizes a revolution and they take to the streets.
"Alot of this hits home these days with everything going on in the world and carries an important message I feel I need to make. I'm fortunate to have my music so I can deliver it. I was finished with this before the Paris riots began and I started writing a big portion of this after the Tsunami hit and before Katrina.
"Musically it's also a sharp turn from what I've done in the past. The piano is the primary instrument here and I used no electric guitars while making this album. I made everything entirely by myself and I used and experimented with a variety of different sounds and instruments in order to capture the mood of each song and how it relates to the story."

I first heard of Joe Nacco several months ago on the radio during the show "Exposure" It was a bicycle ride on a chilly December night to a small cafe in Greenwich. That was the night I became a fan of Joe Nacco. He played some of his songs on guitar and keyboard. It was these new songs from an upcoming album "Requiem for Civilization" including the song "A light and a tone" which made Nacco an inside hit. If there was an album that could allow me to go to sleep at night and not worry about the pressures of society it would be "Requiem" Track 2 "Natural Disaster" reminds me somewhat of the "Newsboys" that's a good thing. But it is the impact that is felt on the inside favorite tracks of mine like "Natural Disaster" "Where I belong" "Sometimes" "Needful Worry" and the album's best track "A light and a tone" Nacco knows how to score with impact he brings you into a lyrical world and impacts you when you see him play in front of you. Unlike other artists he nails down the impacting factor. His upper level singing makes the record even better. The fact that this record is going to shove a musical fist into your emotions to make you become like you see how society is in the wrong is another added reason to buy this album. "A light and a tone" could be a love song for that girlfriend. "Angry Mob" is a good song to listen to when your stuck in traffic. "Sometimes" is a track you can relax to when you are lonely and driving down the road. "Natual Disaster" is a good song to wake up to in the morning. "Needful Worry" could be a good song to listen to at night when it's quiet. The album speaks on many levels and its message seems to come out of a fantasy world and face the burning fires of reality. It is an across the board inside hit. Nacco plays in Caffe Lena in August and opens for me I hope you'll come out to the show.
