Album Notes

Joe Pop is singer, songwriter, guitarist, keyboardist Dave LaPlante and bassist Joe Payne. Dave and Joe started as friends in high school, forming their first bands together. After taking a few years off from music, Dave decided to write, record and perform again as his alter ego, Joe Pop. Dave tracked down Joe who then became part of Joe Pop, adding his talent on bass guitar. The sound of Joe's bass helped to further define the Joe Pop sound. Joe Pop is also a weekly comic strip, created by Dave and published on their Joe Pop website (www.joepoptoons.com). The comic strip Joe Pop has become the face of the Joe Pop band and the music and cartoons are becoming one entity. The first video release for the new CD features the cartoon version of Joe Pop singing the song while Dave and Joe make only a cameo appearance. Dave's influence are diverse but include Brian Wilson, The Turtles, Gilbert O'Sullivan, and later 70's and early 80's bands, such as, The Cars and Elvis Costello. Joe Pop is gaining fans daily via the internet pod-casts and college radio and has been played in the US, Canada, Germany, The UK and France.
