I have listened to this cd hour upon hour and have not wanted to go on to another. I listen to it everytime I'm in my mini cooper. It is so soothing to me. I woke up this morning w/Isabel and the King in my head. If I was forced to pick my favorite, it would be Cowboy Song, but since I am not forced to choose, I love it all. This cd has found itself on equal footing w/some of my favorites such as Patty Griffen "Living with Ghosts" and Cowboy Junkies "The Trinity Session". I wonder if one of Joe's influences was Couting Crows? ~ Keli Hearon

Joe Purdy's voice seems to fit perfectly with the smoothness of an acoustic guitar. From the quick talking rhythm you find in the song Outlaws to the smooth twang hidden though out the song Canyon Joe this album is one of Joe Purdy's best. if you're just starting out in his music or you've been a fan from the start this album is a must add to anyones collection.
