About Joe Stark
Joe Stark is one hell of an acomplished singer / songwriter and multi - instrumentalist. He sits at the tender age of 22 and has already recorded five independent albums and toured through the greater part of the United States. During Joe's early teens, his talent befriended him musicians around his South Louisiana home such as Tony Hall ( Neville Brothers, Bob Dylan, Dave Mathews) and Chad Gilmore ( N'dea Davenport, Marc Broussard ) of whom Joe says " really took me under their wings." After High school, while making a name for himself in the southern blues and roots music circuit, Stark went on to tour nationally with classic rock bands like Bad Company, Styx and Billy Squier. The relentless pace and massive venues never overwhelmed Joe's solid live performances but only helped him to gain an excited fanbase and sell a healthy dose of his records within a two-year time frame.
In 2003 , Joe Stark relocated to Atlanta, Ga and emerged with a new sound that is alot more interesting and alot more Rock and Roll. Recording his most recent work, titled the "Guillotine EP" with producer Dave Cobb allowed Joe to mix together an eclectic range of influences.Throughout the disc one can hear traces of Cream, The Rolling Stones along with some influences closer related to his youth... He names the Queens of the Stonage and Lenny Kravitz as a few, but you get the impression that this kid listens to alot of music. The EP hardly ever sways from a straight ahead "no frills" formula that encompases what Stark's music is about. The current Joe Stark lineup has spent the greater part of '03 touring the south with friends Charlie Mars and Blue Epic, while Joe also played guitar on recordings and tours for artists such as Butch Walker and Owen Beverly.
This year promises to be a good one for Joe. Any fan should eagerly await to hear more music and hopefully catch a live show in the near future. One thing is certain though... Joe Stark is an Artist in the purist sense of the word, always keeping his art interesting and working on his arsenal of engaging and melodic rock and roll songs. Music has definitely put itself in the hands of Joe Stark. All we have to do is listen and enjoy.
