Album Notes

This CD represents a collage of material recorded between 1994 and 1999 the bulk of which is my handpicked favorites from my first two concept records "WHEEL" and "FREE". It also cotains excerpts from the now out of print "Best of Joe-1968-1997" and some live and lost gems. Its a lot of material, I figured it would represent the most value if I filled the CD to the edge. I'm very proud of this material because I produced it myself at a young age with an array of analog gear (and a coupe of ADATS that would never sync)....

Both records we originally intended to be one entity, but the task proved too daunting and I broke it in two with WHEEL tackling the concepts of samsara, the persistence of memory .. and FREE addressing the concept of true human freedom- from the dogma of religion to the illusory freedoms of modern western society.
