Album Notes

Back in 2000, Joey was working on the final album for his band,The Montgomery Cliffs and breaking into the radio business in NYC. He had written a batch of songs that did not fit into his bands style and wanted to record them. So he began to record these songs using mandolin, acoustic guitars, harmonica, and more. He decided to call the album,If It Aint Brooklyn,Don't Fix It. Being a city boy who loved roots music as well as modern rock,he mixed the production to reflect his influences.

After it's release, Salvia sold the homemade project at solo shows. It was picked as one of the best do it yourself (recorded in his basement) records by the national magazine, Performing Songwriter, in 2000. Now this version has a few extras including old 4 track cassette demos, a few tunes from a 24 track session with his then band, The Third Rail, and even some songs that go back to the mid 1980s (Coney Island Nights, a song written for Barry Manilow to record).
This is a great sample of his early music and a whole lot more.
