John Orr Franklin - "Pathways"

The "Pathways" project transports the listener on a symbolic musical journey into the limitless possibilities that life brings to us all. Each of us makes our own decisions about our lives and each surmounting decision becomes the sum of who we are, where we are and what we do with the life we have each been given. As well as life being about who we are on the inside it is even more about the actions we choose to take that defines our presence to the rest of the world. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction and every choice we make can profoundly affect those we know as well as those we have never met and in ways we could never conceive.

The pathways we each discover and walk upon ultimately defines our existence as a civilization as well as individuals in this space and this time.

Written and recorded throughout 2006 at Blue Room Digital studios in Austin Texas, John has created a collection of 14 songs that capture his true appreciation of the modern recording studio as an enviroment of musical creation in which the realm of sonic possibilities that music and technology allow are truly boundless. Alternating between vocal material and instrumental material the Pathways project captures a sense of duality that represents the elements of choice that we each must face.
