Album Notes

Johan’s new CD “Silhouettes At Dusk” is a collection of aural paintings that recalls events in life. It deals with joy, the spiritual and continuous questioning about the meaning of life and where it should be going.

The golden thread throughout the CD is that after events have passed we still remember what they felt like even though we do not recall the exact details. For instance, we may forget the details of what was said or which song played but we
still remember what emotion we felt from the way the room smelled or how comforting someone’s touch felt. These memories are like Silhouettes At Dusk. This is also the case with our stars and loved ones after they passed away.

The compositions on this CD are varied in nature and change considerably within the tracks as stories progress. The CD starts with forceful “Symphonic Rocker I” followed by an ambient “The Source Within”, experimental “20th Century’s End” and choral new age “Ode To Ra”. These are followed by the epic compositions “Wedding In 4 Courses” and “Innovations In
Marriage”. Of course, there is more as the CD is loaded with more than an hour of music !

Instruments used: synthesizers, sampled pianos, synthesized vocals and virtual instruments. The results of these sounds are rich textures with lyrical melodies and punchy rhythm sections.
