Album Notes

John Ashfield's album Harmony Bunny combines rock, folk, and even some 80's-style synth-pop in to an interesting and thoroughly rhythmic musical pastiche. Ashfield sings and plays all of the instruments, except for some guest appearances by Chris Xefos on the Moog, Ed Boland on drum programming, and Patrick Goodwin (of Pansy Division) on lead guitar for a few tracks. Chris Xefos, of King Missile and the Moth Wranglers, co-produced the album.

The CD also includes an animated video for the instrumental Harmony's Theme, playable on any computer.

Ashfield's album is the aural equivalent of a sunny day at the beach.
author: Andy Northrup
John Ashfield's desire to keep the hooks in pop music is welcome relief from the current tuneless sludge being forced on us by the powers that be. Ashfield's sense of melody is only surpassed by the suprising amount of wit with which he crafts his lyrics. This album is all about smart California pop the likes of which we haven't heard since The Knack or The Motels. Imagine Elvis Costello having a martini with Brian Wilson. Great, now get your ass to the beach and enjoy this album.
