ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
John Baldwin is fastly becoming the most talked about blues artist on the East Coast. Initial reviews of John's newly released debut CD are astounding. John is based out of Virginia Beach where he plays regularly with the John Baldwin Group.
John grew up in Boston where he attended Berklee College of Music. John spent two years and over 1000 studio hours perfecting the 80 minutes of original modern-rock-blues on his new CD. All tracks use the same solid rhythm section with John handling all the vocals, guitars, and most of the keyboards.
Imagine if Stevie Ray Vaughan could sing like Sammy Hagar: you would have John Baldwin!!

CD REVIEW:

April 2005
Ninevolt Magazine, Norfolk, VA
www.ninevoltmag.com
written by Jeff Maisey, editor

"John Baldwin is considered one of Hampton Roads' preeminent blues guitarists, but when you give 'Wide Alive and Dreaming' a complete spin it becomes quite evident that Baldwin's scope is much broader. From classic sounding rock and contemporary country to blues and jazz, Baldwin's skills as songwriter, guitarist, and singer are really amazing.
'Shades of you,' for instance, is an 8-minute jazz piece with ample room for Baldwin to rip it up, and he does. Scott Woods' organ complements Baldwin's early 70's foray on 'Tempted.' 'Baby I believe in you' is uplifting and takes a page from Van Halen's pop/rock songbook. Diversities aside, Baldwin is a true bluesman and 'Mistreated,' 'Redemption blues,' and 'I've been down,' capture the Memphis and New Orleans vibe."

The best damn CD I've bought in years!
This CD is awesome!! John's songs are so catchy. I can't get them outta my head! Damn you Mr. Baldwin. This is the first album since "Boston" that I can listen to from start to finish, not a bad song. He holds my attention for over an hour. And I listen to this CD all the time now! This guy is gonna be huge. Just watch!
