ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This is Black Whydah's third album of original instrumental music and is based on the Elizabeth Moisan historic novel, "Master of the Sweet Trade". Set on Cape Cod, follow the story of the famed pirate ship, The Whydah, pirate Sam Bellamy and Mariah Halleck. The music encompasses a wide range of folk instruments in an enjoyable mix of Celtic, new age and folk settings.
Between the two of us in Black Whydah, we cover almost every instrument with or without strings. Our songs will draw you into the story even if you haven't read the book but we encourage you to find it because it is such a good story and our music does it justice. Don't get me wrong. The album stands alone on it's merits. We consider this to be our finest album to date, with songs that will make you want to listen time and again.
