What is Funkinjazz? A new kind of Jazz… Jazz for the old and new Generation; a hand clapping dancing moving to the beat kind of Jazz… A mixture of Quincy Jones, Prince to Miles Davis, kind of Jazz… Soulful smooth groves, eclectic beats with rhythms that are a distinct flavor of this artist, writer and producer.

Funkinjazz is the next level of Jazz… Audience participation kind of Jazz… This album contains original compositions created by John. Every instrument you hear on this album is performed by him. A combination of Old School and New School Jazz, that is sure to have millions in sales, that’s Funkinjazz…

John Schuller, musician, songwriter, producer and singer. With these many talents John has an array of accomplishments. His musical inspirations come from the best in the business, from hanging out with Ray Charles to Quincy Jones. His very first song released was “God Loves You” on the World Renowned recording artist and Legend Billy Preston. Other accomplishments have been two movie soundtracks titled “Been a Longtime Coming” Featured on Little Richard’s Warner Bros album “Friends” and in the movie “Down & Out in Beverly Hills and “Doin Time” in the movie Penitentiary III and a host of songs writing credits that run beyond Funk to Jazz.

Other song writing credits are Grammy award winning, A & M artist “The Brothers’ Johnson” song titled “Party Avenue” “on their album “Kick It To The Curb” and song titled “The Great Awaking” from the album “The Blast” producers Quincy Jones and The Brothers’ Johnson, other songs released “Car Freak” by Motown artist “Georgio” known for his million seller “Sex Appeal” single.

As a recording artist John has had a recording contract with A& M Records, Motown and his own label Telesis Records. On Telesis Records he was known as artist “Johnny Island.” with the released songs “My Heart Beats Only for You” and “Stay With Me.”


These are just a portion of the talents and abilities John has developed, other avenues of expression are his commercial productions and compositions. His expressions of music have multiple ranges, not only in style but mood and spirit.

These are just some of his accomplishments. The scope of John’s talents are endless...
