Album Notes

“Awesome sound - so spacious and smoky/textured”. John Cook follows up his ‘Out of the Basement’ CD with this collection of new original songs and one re-work of an old one. Allison Ingram again joins him with her great vocals, both harmonizing and singing lead on ‘Take My Heart’ and the mysterious “Window Sill’. Joining John this time is Ken Sease on acoustic guitar, adding tasteful melody guitar, smooth harmony parts and some plain ripping lead. Here him especially on 'Window Sill' and Ignorance IS Blss. You’ll find intricate dual guitar parts, such as the instrumental 'Falling water' and some very clever solo finger picking by John. Also included are three songs with John’s unique harmonica style; two new ones, the driving ‘Come on Baby Smile’ and the bluesy “Feel like Loving You’ and an extended version of “Deadly’ from the ‘Out of the Basement’ CD, that evolved over time played live by John and Ken.
Two acoustic guitars, two vocalists, kept simple, this is a lot of sound with songs that will stay with you and listen twice.

Nothing More to Say
author: June Ober
John Cook is truly evolving as a singer, songwriter and guitar player. His unique sound coupled with Allison and Ken make this CD his best yet....this cd is smooth, sexy and bluesy. A must for folks who like accoustic guitar picking harmonics, great lyrics and over all, cool.
