ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Few musicians have ever entered room 414 of The Gunter Hotel in San Antonio Texas – the hallowed ground where Robert Johnson recorded 16 out of his 29 songs in November of 1936. Singer/songwriter, John Ford was fortunate enough to spend a couple days there, in October of 2012, recording a collection of original & traditional blues songs. "The Songs From Room 414" was the result. Two original tunes "Southern Comfort" and "Carolina Blues" - the other three songs are covers. "Penitentiary Blues" by Lightnin Hopkins, "John the Revelator", a traditional song as done by Son House & "Come On In My Kitchen" by Robert Johnson. All recorded on a 1958 "Voice of Music" mono, tube, reel to reel tape recorder.

"Southern Comfort" is the only song from this album currently available for download.
