This CD contains the recording of the world premiere performance of John Link's arrangements for five singers, guitar, bass, drums, and violin of Frédéric Chopin's 24 Preludes, Opus 28. With his arrangements John Link reveals what has always been present in Chopin's Preludes, published in 1839, but what is not obvious when played on solo piano.
You have never heard Chopin's Preludes played the way the John Link Project played them, with the melody, harmony, and rhythm so clear. Unlike performances by pianists that typically play many of the Preludes (Nos. 1, 3, 5, 11, 14, 16, 18, 22, and 23) much too fast and without any sort of groove, these renditions at appropriate tempos really swing!
Recorded live in concert June 6, 7, and 8, 2007 at the Ailey Citigroup Theater in New York City accompanying Lori Belilove & The Isadora Duncan Dance Company in The EveryWoman Series: The Red Thread.
