A profound expression of the cosmic song.

John Lyell, first came to my attention, while reading a review at Ambient Visions website and caught a glimpse of the cover art for Lyell's "Dimensions". I read the interview about John's music, and after listening to a few short samples, needless to say, I was enthralled. What graced my headphones was: a profound journey, deep into the galactic hinterlands. The music seemed to almost have a synced time-signature with some distant, galactic pulsar. This is prime-stuff (ear-candy) for those, who dabble in the introspective permutations, of univeral thought. The CD cover is yet another fantastic extension of the music awaiting the listener inside, and certainly adds to the over-all appeal of the production. Lyell's collaborations with Brent A. Reiland are equally great. This solo effort shows the conceptual maturity, that this artist has evolved into. I look forward to his new projects, and highly recommend "Dimensions".

I ordered this cd after hereing a few samples on John's myspace site. I have to say it has stayed in heavy rotation both at the office and at home. Perfect for either thought inducing background, or deep listening. A great example of "undiscovered" talent.

Close your eyes and float amongst the stars.

I bought this after seeing it recommended on the ambient email list, and it's one of my favourite purchases of the year. Beautiful floating pads and subtle subdued rhythms, it sounds like floating in the cosmos in shimmering starlight. Thoroughly recomended.
