Notes on 'A Long Long Time Ago'

The centre of the song is about having no centre, because the song is about the past’s effect upon a fictitious entity, the imagined self. The past itself being unreal, can have no effect on anything, much less another falsehood. The song is about someone who doesn’t exist, even in the here and now, living a flywheel existence. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I did pretending to have created it.
