Album Notes

Following the successful release of "Weather The Storm" on both the Local Folkel and Beacon independant labels, John Michaels and company entered the studio in May of 1994 to begin recording his 3rd major album, "Yesterdays Heroes".

This departure from small scale folk production brought John's music into the mainstream and country markets while retaining the warmth of his original sound.

"Yesterdays Heroes" was relased in the spring of 1995 to even greater response than the successful "Weather The Storm" and won the 1995 Boston Music Award catagory of "Outstanding Country Album of the Year".

"The warmth of folk with the sounds of country wrapped up with sincere singwriting" - The Boston Music Awards

"Inspiring...a die hard spirit " "Delightful"-- Dirty Linen Folk Magazine

"Michaels husky baritone is very effective...His vocal suggests James Taylor with a bit of grit" ... His childrens song "Cowboy Bill" is Delightful -- The Quincy Patriot Ledger

"Michaels' Weather The Storm is the best album we've heard in a long time" -- Goose Acres; Folk Music Review, Cleveland Ohio

"One of the best emerging acoustic acts in New England" -- Boston's Hatch Shell Acoustic Series/Saltbox Productions
