Album Notes

Released on May 11 2002, "Back Home on the Farm" was the long awaited CD release from singer/songwriter John Michaels after his 1995 award winning album "Yesterdays Heroes."

John's band, The John Michaels Group, while performing at a number of performances during the past years, were quiet on the recording front.

This sometimes bittersweet and more heavily country/americana influenced album is a strong return to the recording studio from this popular New England act.

The album contains songs close to Michaels own life's experiences. The song "Selling The Town" tells of the loss of historic structures and traditions due to overzealous building development. A lover of history, John's song "A Red Kings Rebellion" chronicles the New England King Philip War of the 1670's.

Songs like "A Hero Everyday" and "I'll Remember You" are personal tributes to John's mother who recently passed away.

John refuses to provide a sound that is capable of being labled which is in itself, HIS style. A blend of Folk/Country and sometimes blues, fans of any musical style are drawn into this mainstream sound that has been likened to the names such as Gordon Lightfoot, James Taylor and some country bands also!
