Album Notes

Plans for this project began to unravel in the summer of 2010 when I first heard this song that was the brain child of my long time friend, Marty Williams. I told him, if I could change a few lines, here and there, I might consider cutting the song. I worked several weeks writing and re-writing until I got “The Stimulus Package” to where I started having a vision of it being the title of my next CD release.

I also completed writing a Christmas song that I started writing in the ‘90’s called “The Reason for it All”. There were a couple other songs that I tried to write in the ‘90’s as country love songs but just never made it as such. I let the Holy Spirit take over, as I got a new concept on “Traces of Your Love” and “In Your Arms”. The “In Your Arms” was inspired by a serious illness that I’m currently fighting. I’ll have to admit, it felt weird singing about my illness but when I heard it played back, it didn’t seem personal at all. My thoughts were, a lot of people could relate to this song.

The Holy Spirit lead me, to choosing some of the other songs I chose for this album. This offering opens with the Woody Guthrie song, “This Land is Your Land”. Although it isn’t a gospel song, I though it was a good way to start, “The Stimulus Package” because the title song is the solution to saving America. “How Great Thou Art” was chosen because it shows how awesome God is.

I hope you enjoy the music on this CD and it’s my prayer, a lot of people will be blessed by it in someway.

This is a  wonderful CD by Johnny Jones. Great songs, love the voice and  is  from  his  heart.  In "Your  Arms" and "Traces  of  Love " are  so well written and  really  touched  me. The music  is  great Johnny. Keep  up  the  good work ,it  keeps  getting better  for  you. All the  songs are  well done.
