Album Notes

Johnny Miles is a promising young singer-songwriter from the New Jersey / Philadelphia area who has been attracting a lot of attention with the release of his full-length debut album. "Awakening" is a dynamic first effort displaying a powerful and developing talent on 14 songs written, performed, arranged and produced by Johnny.

Rooted in folk / blues with a passionate voice and poetic lyrics, Johnny's music stands out among singer-songwriters, blending themes of hope, struggle and relationship into touches of bass, piano and harmonica for a fresh acoustic sound.

Ranging from the catchy, pop-like appeal of "Stay With Me Tonite" and "Stillwater Blues" to the more roots-influenced "Remember Me, Babe" and "Unafraid" to the spoken-word of "Elusive Like Tomorrow" through to the epic ballads "Ghost Of The Sunrise" and "Heroes Of The Western Night", this cd has it all - and this songwriting talent is sure to excite and impress!

Johnny performs regularly in and around the Philadelphia area and has been seen at the Treehouse, the Point, the Fire, the Lickety Split, John and Peter's, the Grape Street Pub, assorted subways, and the streets of Collingswood, NJ - **for more info on Johnny's live performances check out www.johnnymiles.org

We love the CD. Johnny Miles' voice is remarkable for his age. The thought and musicality behind this album is remarkable. We can't wait for the second album, he only has room for greater things.

I would have to admit I was pretty surprised at how FRESH it sounded... usually artists like these are all like played out and all but this dude makes his own songs! I got this cd as a gift from my girlfriend's friend who claims to have recorded it - Either way, this guy has good songs and a good sound so I highly recommend it!

His music is natural- not the industry-created singer-songwriter we are seeing today.
