Great CD

I'm glad I had the pleasure to check out your latest CD Groovidi. It's a great mix of smooth jazz and cool classical piano pieces. My favorites are Groovidi (Very Smooth), La Playa de Amor with its cool Spanish flair, and all the solo piano pieces although all the tracks are very kool. Piano is one of my favorite instruments. David Benoit, John Tesh, and Tom Howard are some names that come to mind when I think of this project. I can hear all the influences from various genres from classical smooth jazz, blues, rock, and in between. The musicianship on this CD is seasoned. Whoever did that lead guitar solo on “Do You Mean to Tell Me” is hot. That reminded me of my favorite guitarist Paul Jackson Jr. Great solo! Groovidi has great presentation and is mixed/mastered very well. I have no doubt this CD will be successful.
Thanks again and much success.

The CD "Groovidi" by John Pedersen is an impressive smooth jazz CD. The instrumentation and production are tasteful and the melodies are memorable. Especially impressive, is John's excellent piano and keyboard work, and the excellent musicianship throughout the CD. The CD has a very professional sound. "Montery Getaway" is one of our favorite tracks. It demonstrates the versatility of John's piano skills. The compositon is very soothing and breathtaking all at the same time. It has a Bob Baldwin kind of feel to it. The reverb from the piano jumps out at you and almost makes you feel like you're right in the room with him. Please go out and purchase this CD. We recommend it to anyone who appreciates smooth melodies and stylish beats.

A celebration of the good life!
author: Smoothjazz.com Review
This San Diego keyboardist has had a very interesting progression into a musical career. After an early foray into professional musicianship, playing with his first band beginning at the age of 15, his calling was sidetracked by what some would call a “real world” job as a lab technician. While most of us might consider being laid off from their employment a negative experience, John Pedersen used the opportunity to revisit his passion. Five recordings later, we arrive at GROOVIDI, an album that in the artist's own words is, “A celebration of the good life inspired by walks on the beach, Jazz concerts in the summer, good food and wine, and most of all, the joys of being happily married.” We should all be so blissfully laid off! GROOVIDI opens with the spirited and aptly titled “It’s Good.” You just can’t help tapping your toes and bidding any sorrow farewell as the spirited melody engulfs you. The spellbinding title track impeccably infuses Smooth Jazz, chill and funk. Featuring Adrienne Nims on sax, “Touch Of Blue” is evocatively enigmatic while the witty “Critter Caprice” is sure to bring pure pleasure and a sense of fun. John seems to be embracing all the good things that life is offering him, and with GROOVIDI he passes that wonder and exhilaration on to his listeners. Enjoy! ~BETH LEWIS
