Album Notes

After a few weeks of getting to know each other, John and Joe decided to make a full length CD. They started jamming every night, then distilled those jams into the musical expressions of the moods of a day.

“A.M. Suite” evokes the warmth of a summer sunrise and the energy of preparing for a new day.

“Awakening” reflects the lazy emergence from the sheets.

“Midday” is a chance to play hooky, to escape, while “Afternoon Suite” is full of the smugness of a day well spent.

“Sundown” is time for reflection, time to re-energize for all that still lies ahead.

“Twilight” is the sweetness of uninterrupted time to hang with your baby till “Lullaby” lures you back to bed.

“Dreamstate” drifts into alternate realities and universes and “Astral” completes the musical day with floating electric guitar.

John Sherry is a superb guitarist, singer, songwriter and composer. He has released two solo albums, two CDs with The John Sherry Group and has a string of credits as a commissioned composer for theatre and film. He has twice placed as a finalist in the VH-1 Song of the Year songwriting contest. Some of his chief influences on guitar are Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, and Eric Clapton.

C. Joe Gough’s brilliant percussion and keyboard work provides the glue and spicy accents to Harmonic Convergence. Joe is a well-known art photographer who lives on the Central Coast of California.
