Ms. Johnstad’s emotive phrasing pulls the listener in and her vocals envelope the listener in captivating performances on all 11 tracks. Wow, I am glad I discovered her music and let’s hope more radio stations start playing the music of Kara Johnstad, because we need more fresh and creative albums like this one. She should appeal to a number of radio station formats, as her music is not pure Jazz. I would think AC, Alternative and AAA program and music directors would also get excited about these song.
