John Troutman has been playing the piano for over 40 years. Born in Chicago, Illinois, John took his first piano lesson at age 8. At age 10 he moved to Concord, North Carolina with his family where he began an avid pursuit of music. As a Teenager, John was very active in school music programs as Choral Accompanist, and playing a variety of instruments in the high school band, as well as winning the John Phillip Sousa Award and National Music Award given to outstanding musicians at the High School Level. John was also the recipient of several music scholarships which were used for his University Music Studies. On weekends as a teenager, John was involved with his Local Church playing the piano for various musical groups. During his College years, he spent every summer at the University of Michigan’s, ‘ National Music Camp’ and ‘Interlochen Center for the Arts’, as a Unit Director in the High School Division. After College, John sought after his goal to become a full-time musician and in 1986 he recorded his first album and soon there-after became a full-time touring artist.
John & wife Lorie have 3 grown children, 2 Boys & a Girl. The oldest John Jr., has a degree in music, David is Studying Language Arts, and Holly is studying marketing.
