Album Notes

Born in the Bronx, New York in 1969, John started playing guitar at age 8. His early influences were Rock, R & B, Jazz, Blues, Funk and Pop music from the 1960’s, 1970’s and 1980’s. John has played in the New York area for two decades in various original and cover bands on guitar and saxophone performing in clubs, weddings, corporate functions and private parties. Over the years he has shared the stage with many well known musicians of diverse styles and genres like Cameron Brown, Ron Vincent, Mike Holober, Richard Sussman, Sal Giorgianni, Ernie Colon, Bill Perry, Les Paul Jr., Buddy Cage, Eric Lawrence, Bob Kindred, Matt Haviland, Sam Wayman and Jay Azzolina, all of whom have had a big influence on John as he absorbs their masterful musicianship to help forge his own style and voice. His playing is dynamic and unique brought together by very good technical ability. Above all, it is soulful and musical.

John has a Bachelors of Music from Berklee College of Music. He has studied and performed publicly with some of the great jazz musicians in New York and at Berklee who have challenged John to master his own musical destiny. Proficient on guitar and saxophone, this uncommon doubling of these two instruments sets John apart and makes him a valuable professional musician. You will enjoy this CD. John is a masterful musician who more than demonstrates his proficiency on both the sax and guitar on this recording. John has blended elements of each instruments unique melodic character into the phrasing and interpretive expression on many of his solo improvisations. This CD is a "must have" and is the first of many to come from this up and coming Jazz Superstar. For a real treat, you must see him perform live.......a true musician.

A Must have!!!

What a great CD! The production is 100% pro sounding and the musicianship and arrangements are off the charts. Tutino is a killer guitarist and saxophonist, yet even when he turns up the heat during solos his playing is always melodic and tasty. My favorite track is "Tre Nipoti". I really love the sound of the guitar and vibraphone together. If you are a jazz lover you need to have this CD in your collection....
