Blues and rock n roll. Many listeners have made comparisons to Jackson Browne, Van Morrison, Pink Floyd, Santana, Ben Folds, Billy Joel, and other great artists. Great jams. Great diversity of instrumentation. Lyrically, it speaks of love (good and bad),

Album Notes

Jonathan began playing piano at about eight years of age. He trained primarily playing classical music with a touch here and there on pop. In high school, he soon began writing music and playing more music that interested his taste. That taste expanded during "college life" and beyond with exposure to a greater library of music. Influences are far and wide.

His rubs with success have included playing with Bo Diddley at the age of 19 years old, opening for acts such as Buddy Guy, Jerry Portnoy, John Hammond, Jr., the Dixie Chicks, Storeyville (SRV's Double Trouble as the rhythm section), Billy Ray Cyrus, and others.

He has recorded on several artists' songs, but finally decided in 2002 to begin his own project. "Jonathan" is comprised of songs written as far back as 1990, but most were written during the course of the project.

It has received remarkable feedback from all who listen and is simply waiting to reach the right set of ears! This cd is no disappointment!

Jonathan has just finished his 2nd CD project which is due out around June 25th! You can find it right here at CD Baby! The 3rd CD is under way!

A Quiet Work That Will Stay With You a Long Time...

Absolutely stunning work! So very personal and obviously written from the heart. "Give in to Love" is such a beautiful and intimate song...feels like you're intruding into Barker's soul...reminiscent of Joel's earliest and best work...personal, accessible and beautifully melodic. Pour yourself a nice merlot and just sit back and listen...

I have known the artist for several years but have not gotten the opportunity to hear him perform. The CD was very good. I could recognize the different influences especially Jackson Browne. The arrangement was well executed. I received the CD very quickly.

This CD was a real pleasure to listen to. I love a wide range of music and liked the way Jonathan was thoughtful and very melodic.I haven't got a favourite track yet, but will let on grow on me( although My Love isn't Shallow is doing well). How about promoting this in the UK?
