THE SCOTT MISSION PROJECT

This “Miracle on Spadina” has served the poor and needy for 65 years.

The release of the Reflections Of Light CD
took place at a special event at the Mission in Toronto during Christmas 2006.

The Scott Mission has a 3 day period just before Christmas when they give out 3300 turkeys and gift / food vouchers to 3300 needy families. During the past few years the Lord has given me a great gift…... an opportunity to volunteer
and play piano for part of each of the 3 days.

In 2006 I celebrated the “moment” by giving away 1500 FREE copies of Reflections Of Light to those passing through.

I pray the music and comforting words will bless many as time goes by.

Jonathan Urie Background

Canadian , Jonathan Urie is a Christian, a music composer, song writer, pianist and radio program narrator. Many of the past several years have been devoted to the development of the celebrated Helen Steiner Rice music project of 20 songs.

A Journey of the Spirit that began in 1982-83 has taught Jonathan much about patience, perseverance, the power of prayer, trust, faith, courage and the guiding hand of the Lord. Along the way, new songs have emerged that reflect the valleys and mountain tops of the journey. Some of these are part of this new CD.

REFLECTIONS OF LIGHT is a collection of original piano melodies from Jonathan Urie. Strings have been added for richness along with a light sprinkling of narrated inspirational thoughts from the beloved writings of Roy Lessin.
Roy Lessin is co-founder of DaySpring Cards. His kindness and warm friendship have inspired me deeply over the past 2 years and I thank the Lord for bringing us together.

A special note of thanks to Albert MacDonald owner of E.D.I. Productions, Toronto, for his friendship and generosity in making this recording possible and to my talented artist friend Olaf Schneider, Toronto, www.olaf.ca for allowing me to use his painting ABOVE ALL on the CD cover.
Lastly, an expression of sincere appreciation to many friends and loved ones who have encouraged me throughout this Journey of the Spirit.
