After the release of Meet The Joneses (2002), The Joneses decided to release a concept album.
Mystical Delusions is what evolved.
And here is what it's all about:
Ancient parables tell of spirits in constant motion amongst us, breathing from our souls. These phantoms are journeymen moving in and out of parallel worlds, struggling on behalf of humanity for its vision of the utopian existence. Ironically, the disharmony they clash with comes from us. It is believed the spirits travel from soul to soul through gateways opened by cryptic spells. These spells are hidden in legendary tales that are passed on by those possessing the spirits to those who are next in line. For these chosen ones, it is said an enlightened existence awaits, but not before being drawn into the struggle. A rare glimpse into this conflict surfaced not long ago.
An orphan, missing for months, is discovered lying motionless high above the raging Pacific on a cliff side. When he awakens in a hospital his ramblings are that of a madman. His story unfolds in pieces, seemingly random and delusional, yet horrifying in detail. It fills his listener with visions of what hell may really be: torture at the hands of unseen faces, nightmares without sleep, tragic loss, near insanity. He describes a carnival like setting, bizarre and other worldly. He recalls sitting amongst freaks and mongrels, watching a minstrel storyteller drop like a stone after reciting a mystical tale. This tale, the orphan now recites for his listener word for word, before descending into a state of unconsciousness again.
When he awakens again, his memory is blank. He learns that the child in the neighboring bed has disappeared without a trace, but not before relaying the orphan's ramblings to his bewildered family.
This CD is an interpretation of the orphan's experiences, thoughts, delusions, yearnings and reflections while carrying on the journey of the spirits and ascending to his freedom.

Amazng!!!!! I thought the first album was great but this one blew my mind. The idea of taking on a concept album in this day and time and yet keeping every song so fresh..... Couldn't ask for a better CD. Meaning and variety. A great CD to sit back and listen to, like albums back in the days of vinyl.
