Stephan Jones' self titled debut is a bit of a departure from the good time, bluesy rock 'n' roll of his Maine-based band the Boneheads; this album takes the listener into much deeper waters. It is an earthy and raw affair with strong acoustic and electric guitar textures, melodic McCartney-esque bass , tasty drumming, and unique, often riff-like backup vocals. Music that speaks from the soul, with powerful lyrics, earthy guitars, and unique arrangements Against this backdrop, Jones' lyrics and vocal delivery are undeniable. While hard to pigeonhole, comparisons have been made to "the Band", "John Lennon" and "Richard Thompson".
