This CD features Joni's incredible and sultry vocal style which beautifully reflects the wonderful and inspiring musical era of the 40's and 50's with such extraordinary and unforgettable vocalists like Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Doris Day, Rosemary Clooney and Judy Garland, Joni's favorite singers. Joni simply outperformed herself in recreating that amazing piece of musical history with this incredible tasteful compilation of touching and tender love songs of days gone by.

The emotions that went into the making of this CD range from thrilled, excited and exuberant to a concentrated dedication and love for each incredible and beautiful lyric that these wonderful and not forgotten songwriters so graciously gave to us so long ago. Joni's drive for impeccable perfection in every note, both musically and vocally, can be heard in her warm and sensuous delivery on every song. Her uptunes put a distinct, light, fun filled feeling in her CD and even though considered a ballad queen by her friends, she lights up a room when she sings a swing tune.

It also features some of the best musicians in the business who gladly lent their awesome talents to their friend Joni for this truly amazing production. You can't help but to be totally in awe by the wonderfully creative and inspiring musical arrangements, piano playing and vocal duets by Tony Winston, Robert Strickland, Randy Barnes, Robert Ray, Adam Patterson and Joni's husband Tom.

Joni has always felt that she had a special connection to the magic and the beauty of the great era of Jazz and the beautiful love songs of the 40's and 50's. Born in Idaho to musically talented parents, it was her father who, at an early age, instilled in Joni the love and the emotions for this remarkable musical period and style, resulting in her incredible feeling and heartfelt renditions of some of the greatest Jazz standards in musical history.

She has come a long way since her first TV appearance, winning a vocal competition at the tender age of 10 and singing in school plays, at country clubs and fairs before eventually moving to Las Vegas. For many years, Joni performed professionally at the Desert Inn, Sands and Flamingo Hilton in Las Vegas, Harrah's in Lake Tahoe and in Reno and appeared on the Jerry Lewis Labor Day MD telethon for several years. Later, her exciting career took her to Europe for many years where she successfully toured with a big band, resulting in the release of her first solo album and various TV appearances.

Today, Joni regularly and with great success performs in her hometown of Atlanta as featured vocalist with some of the finest musicians in numerous combo and big band formations. She can also be seen in various cabaret shows at Altobeli's Restaurent and Libby's Cafe.

Her favorite hobby is singing with 150 of the most amazing women, The Sweet Adelines, which she has been a proud member of for 7 years, performing with them at various volunteer and charity shows. "Especially close to my heart are retirement homes" says Joni, "since my treasured Mom will be 93 this year. There is nothing more rewarding than to look in the faces of those beautiful elderly people and see the joy we bring to them". Her chorus, Song of Atlanta, won 8th place in the world at the International Contest in Nashville, TN in 2002.Joni says" singing with the girls is a lot of fun". I highly recommend it for relaxation and especially to keep up your voice quality.
