JON LAX - Composer and multi-Instrumentalist. Innovative music producer for film, video, and multimedia.

With a varied and versatile background in performing Jazz, Rock, Folk and Blues music throughout New England, Jon Lax moved to the Bay Area in l977. Jon became interested in contemporary and jazz piano being influenced by piano and keyboard players Cecil Taylor, McCoy Tyner, Bob James, and Theloneous Monk. In 1984 he moved Santa Fe New Mexico where he started a small music company producing music based on his compositions and experimenting with applied computer technology and digital/analog recording techniques. Living in the New Jersey since 1996, Jon Lax has been exclusively involved with composition and improvisational music directed towards film and multimedia integrating MIDI technology with acoustic instruments.

Moving easily between lyrical themes to modern, dynamic grooves, Jon Lax is one of those inventive musicians who has the ability to mix with great taste various musical styles such as jazz, new age, classical, world music. His music captures the sounds of nature, converting them into beautiful melodies charged with emotion and spirit.
