Album Notes

Founding member of Victoria group 'Jon and Roy', 'After a Trip' is a solo venture written and recorded after a journey across the Pacific to Oz and SE Asia. The style is strictly acoustic and a folky vibe is prevalent, but the sounds range from Reggae-fied to Hip-hop influenced. Born and raised in a small town on Vancouver Island (West Coast of Canada), Jon has been developing his acoustic stylee for many years, with influences ranging from Elliot Smith to Bob Marley to A Tribe Called Quest. His tunes reflect two things mostly: straight-up emotion and a love for the thing called music. The simplicity of the tunes on ‘After a Trip’ are also a product of hailing from a place with lots of trees and cool oceans breezes.
