Album Notes

...owes more to pop, classical, and eastern music than jazz. Natural sounding instrumentation.......a nice contrast to noodling new-age synths and saxophones.

....an unique soundtrack in search of a movie, a good movie.

Swift excels at creating melodies and embellishing them with subtle supporting arrangements. Layers of additional guitar, piano, and percussion give many of the pieces an ensemble sound but it is all the work of an individual.

Though well produced, the album has a quasi low-fi aesthetic that lets the melodies speak for themselves and gives the album a more intimate feel than the mass of contemporary instrumental music that tends to be hyper-polished and without soul.

Travelog is a soothing and intriguing album that works well as a backdrop to your relaxations but is also clever enough for intent listening.

A Little Traveling Music if you would please !

What a super set of sounds! My favorite CD this season. (I've been wearing it out in my car CD player.) It's relaxing and very upbeat. Moonstone is without a doubt my favorite on the album! Jon's technique flying on the frets of his guitar and collection of varied mixes of percussion, strings, accoustic and electric guitar makes this a winner!! A "must get" in my book!

These melodies will become part of your conciousness. Travelog is an apt title as the pieces here take you on a journey that you will want to repeat again and again. Excellent background, working, meditating, whatever music.
