Album Notes

PRESS

"A homegorwn source of inspiration with the low growl of Peter Gabriel and the guitar chops of Susan Vega and we don't hand out such compliments lightly" - Boston Globe November 2004

"While he is reminiscent, vocally, of Peter Gabriel and Dave Matthews in some hybrid form, Jordan Carps vocal inflections and symbiotic guitar work paint a detailed canvas of harmony, offering a subtle freshness to the world of music" Shaun McNamara -Metronome Magazine - Boston - April 2004

"Carp makes full use of rich, harmonic textures, contrapuntal melodies, and jazz pop progressions to weave a most distinct sonic tapestry. All 11 songs on this album utilize some sort of tool to take the listener to a place that they just could not go with their everyday CD collection. Grade: A." Wes Soriano - The Aquarian Weekly - New York - May 2004

"Vocal references to Dave Matthews may be made when Jordan Carps name comes up but you can trust that this skilled musical craftsman is every bit as talented as his influences would suggest. Jordan Carp is one of New England's finest singer-songwriters." Metronome Magazine - February, 2004

"An uncluttered, spacious sound with careful arrangements and tight harmonies" Jim Sulivan - Boston Globe - November 27, 2003

"Carp's Vocals recall the late Jeff Buckley" - The Boston Herald December 1, 2003

"If You like Sting, James Taylor, Marc Cohn, Bruce Hornsby, then check this guy out." - The Noise - Boston - April 2003

This was a CD that I was waiting for for quite a while. I had seen Jordan play in a few clubs around and couldnt find any of his recordings until now. His background and training shine brightly in this debut CD, I was a fan before but this CD has me calling all my friends and telling them about Jordan's talents
