Album Notes

Just a couple of weeks before her 13th birthday, Jordyn Mallory finished recording vocals for her new CD titled Tell Me A Story. She had made many trips to Nashville the last couple of years for writing sessions and recording demos of the new songs. She is excited to have her first collection of songs she wrote or co-wrote.

You can throw rocks at the Natchez Trace from her home in Chickasaw County, Mississippi which is about 20 miles from Tupelo. She shares her fond memories (along with a big imagination) of living in the country in songs like My Own, some of the lyrics being ...me, my horse and a dog named Spike... the dress mama made with the pretty white lace...swimming in the creek 'til the sun light's gone...

She paid attention when adults in her community, including friends and family, talked about concerns of losing their jobs to overseas. There's a lot of manufacturing in and around Chickasaw County. This inspired What About the People.

The consensus seems to be that Come Back Home is going to be the number one song on the CD.

Jordyn has always loved music, singing and writing. In just the second grade, she asked her Grandmother, as they were riding in the car one day, "How do you write a song"? That same year, she started playing the piano and then later learned the guitar.

At the age of 10, she passed on the opportunity of artist development/management with a company from Texas. Also, at age 10, she won the Junior Vocal Solo at the International Church of God talent contest in Louisville, KY. After her performance, she was approached by one of the judges who explained she was a talent scout for Ford Modeling Agency in New York. She asked if Jordyn would be interested in modeling in New York the upcoming summer. After further discussions and correspondence with Ford, although very tempting, Jordyn declined so she could pursue her music. At age 11, she started seriously writing and learning the guitar.

Last summer, she talked her parents into turning the dining room into a music room where she spends lots of her time after school. Jordyn is an honor student, very active in school, loves cheerleading and tumbling. She attends South Pontotoc where she will enter the eight grade in the fall of 2005.

Jordyn is very passionate about her music and is already writing for her next CD.
